Florida winters can be the perfect time to give your skin extra love and care. In fact, peels are one of our most popular skin treatments with St. Augustine clients during the winter months.

While Florida winters are mild compared to the northern regions with sub-zero temps (brrrr), our weather can still play havoc with our skin.

Dry air, both inside our heated homes and outside, with lower humidity can leave our skin parched of moisture. This can lead to a lackluster winter look with pale complexions that enhance our blemishes and wrinkles.

Additionally, our skin might be recovering from our Florida summer sun. Sun damage can leave our skin wrinkled, thickened, dull, and flat. Certainly not the look you want when attending holiday parties and family-festive dinners.

How Can Chemical Peels Deliver Healthier-Looking Skin?

When customized to your personal skin needs, a chemical peel can remove dead skin cells and bring fresh cells to the surface.

With newer skin cells replacing the old damaged ones, the results can be an amazing boost in your appearance, including:

  • Enhanced skin radiance and glow
  • More youthful appearance
  • Softened lines
  • Decrease acne breakouts and scars
  • Improved color and texture
  • Consistent skin tone

How is a Chemical Peel Customized for Your Skin?

Everyone’s skin is different. At Debbie’s Day Spa and Salon, our licensed Estheticians will customize a chemical peel based on your:

  • Skin tone
  • Skin texture
  • Skin elasticity
  • Skin condition

Additionally, during the initial consultation, they’ll listen as you describe what you want to accomplish with the skin treatment.

What Types of Chemical Peels are Offered at Debbie’s Day Spa and Salon?

Debbie’s Day Spa and Salon offers a variety of chemical peel skin treatments that can be customized to our client’s needs.

They include:

Jessner’s Peel

The Jessner’s Peel is a medium depth peel designed for more extensive damage. The Jessner’s Peel is a combination of several acids to include salicylic and lactic acid… an effective combination that helps to smooth fine lines and skin discoloration, which reduces the appearance of environmental damage and faint acne scars.

Mandeliclear Peel

The MandeliClear Peel System was developed specifically for treating pigmentation issues associated with darker Fitzpatrick skin types. Effective for lightening pigmentation due to acne, melasma or photodamaged skin, while gently exfoliating. This peel is safe, gentle, and well-tolerated by most skin types. This peel is self-neutralizing.

Lactic Acid Peel

Lactic peels are gentle, safe and well-tolerated by most skin types. Treating thin, damaged and aging skin with lactic acid not only removes the outer layers of damaged stratum corneum but will leave a more intact lipid barrier resulting in a healthier appearance. There is no downtime involved with lactic peels as they rarely produce peeling or flaking, post-peel erythema, or inflammation.

Alpha/Beta Peel

Combined salicylic acid and lactic acid give the esthetician the benefits of both acids in one peel. The “Alpha/Beta Peels” are gentle and very well tolerated and at the same time extremely effective leaving the skin soft, more even-toned, and luminous.
